36 Days of Type is an internationally recognised online project, started by Barcelona based designers Nina Sans and Rafa Goicoechea. It is an open call to designers, illustrators, animators and artists of any kind to submit their interpretations of the letters and numbers from our alphabet every day for 36 days, via Instagram and Twitter. Here, our designer Katie shares her experience participating in the project.
“One of the things I’m most looking forward to this New Year is participating in 36 Days of Type (for the third time!).
This project has been an incredible way for me to shake off the wintertime blues and get my creative juices flowing – allowing me to experiment with different styles and techniques I wouldn’t usually have the chance to explore.
The routine, daily practice and camaraderie of the community keeps me coming back each year, hungry to challenge myself and build on my submissions from the previous year. The supportive and generous nature of the artists, both seasoned professionals and those just starting out, has been incredibly inspiring to watch, delivering constructive critique amongst those in the community.”
Below are Katie’s submissions from last year.
