Modern Slavery Garden at Chelsea Flower Show
After being awarded a place at the most prestigious flower show on the planet, the countdown was on for the team of passionate abolitionists behind this project. Unlike other Chelsea gardens, The Modern Slavery Garden were launching a full scale campaign with the aim of bringing the issue of Modern Slavery to the forefront of people’s minds. RHS Chelsea Flower Show presents a unique opportunity for exposure through guaranteed media coverage and the 180k strong crowd who attend the show over the course of the week.
Sublime provided an integrated design, project management service and a single point of communication for al design and print requirements. Due to constant developments along the way, work was often required at very short notice, but this was never a problem as we were quickly able to respond and allocate studio time to ensure deadlines were met. We designed, print managed and sourced a wide range of marketing material and promotional items, including press packs, promotional flyers and 20,000 custom die-cut leaflets to be handed to visitors to the garden at Chelsea.

Deciding on clear objectives when you are working with such a huge subject as Modern Slavery, is tough, but it was agreed that winning the People’s Choice Award would help project the message of the garden to an even wider audience. During the week of the garden we ran an email campaign, plus focused social media content encouraging people to vote. The Modern Slavery Garden not only won the People’s Choice Award in the Fresh Category, but was also awarded a Gold medal by RHS judges for its design… a better result you could not ask for!
